Summer Seminar Accommodations

The Atlas Society has arranged accommodations convenient for the Summer Seminar to suit a generous or restricted budget.

University Place hotel rooms: University Place is the site of the Summer Seminar sessions, bookstore, and common room. It offers standard hotel amenities, including comfortable, tastefully appointed rooms, a heated, open-air swimming pool, a fitness room, and a hotel restaurant/lounge. Rooms at University Place are available at a special Summer Seminar rate of $99 plus 12.5% tax per night (reserve by May 28). Rooms come with either a single king-size bed or a pair of double-sized beds, and are suitable for single or double occupancy. For two people sharing a room, the University Place rate works out to $56 per person per night.

Portland State University dormitory rooms: The Ondine on the PSU campus is about four blocks from University Place. It is the home of Victor’s dining hall, where many Seminar participants will be taking meals. Ondine “standard” rooms have two twin beds, two desks, and a private bathroom. They have utilitarian dormitory appointments and are cleaned and provided with fresh linen weekly. Dormitory rooms cost $40 per room per night and are suitable for single or double occupancy. For two people sharing a room, the dorm rate works out to $20 per person per night.

You must reserve PSU dorm rooms through The Atlas Society using the Summer Seminar registration form.

Extended Stay: Seminar participants may reserve rooms for the nights of Friday, June 27 and/or Saturday, July 5, to arrive early or take advantage of vacation opportunities in the area after the Seminar. Room prices for these dates are standard. There is no meal plan for these dates.

Off Campus Accommodations: You are welcome to arrange your own accommodation.
Parking at University Place: University Place charges $9 per day for conference parking. Overnight guests pay a charge of $12 for each day including overnight.
