(This is part 2 of a 3-part course.)
Is there an Objectivist environmental ethics? Two of the largest issues affecting political decisions of our time are "sustainability" and "global warming". As popularly understood, both are highly collectivist in nature and statist in their policy ramifications. This does not mean, though, that Objectivists can afford to ignore these issues, or the ethical theories behind them. This three-part course will provide an opportunity for participants to learn the facts about each and how they are currently undermining the moral foundations of capitalism. The critical examinations of these theories will be used to build an outline of an Objectivist theory of environmental ethics.
